I am a biochemist using a ultracentrifuge and sucrose gradients to purify proteins. I has been looking around for some program or even excel sheet that allows me to calculate the migration rate of a particle of sedimentation coefficient S in a sucrose gradient that goes from X% to Y%. Some ultracentrifuges include a simulator that actually does this calculations albeit in a limited fashion since it only includes to different gradients.

In the literature I read about and old program called Beckmac published in 1991. That was developed in a Apple Machintosh Plus. Unfortunately, is not available for download.

Anybody out there knows of an alternative or has any suggestions?
