Virginia Tech builds new Mac cluster

According to MacNN Virginia Tech has just built a new Mac cluster. It consists of 324 8 core Mac Pros linked via 40Gbps copper wire connection.
Virginia Tech were in the news a few years ago when they built "System X" at the time the fastest supercomputer at an academic institution, using 1100 G5 Xserves. The new system looks to have more than double the speed.

VT cluster
I cannot find any information on this other than the MacNN article. If you follow the link in their article to VT's web site, they have no information on this cluster. While I hope it's true, is there any verification that this is actually true? Thanks...

VT cluster
OK, I've done a little more research and have found a Mellanox press release dated 7/21/2008 about this, which is what the "news" sites seem to be reporting on. I still find it extremely curious that VT's web site doesn't have anything about this yet.
I'm very glad to see more evidence that it is actually real, however. Hopefully we'll hear more details about it, such as whether they're trying MacOS X again or, as was the case with their original G5 based Mac cluster, if they end up running Linux...
