software for processing and analysis of electrophysiological recordings from neurons
gentle persons,
We are happy to announce the availability of neurALC 1.0.0rc2 for MacOSX. neurALC is a program intended for processing and analysis of neuronal multi-electrode recordings. In the current version it offers functionality (e.g. PSTH, auto/cross-correlation, instant firing rate, spectrum, recurrence, extraction of firing patterns, etc.) to reveal and analyze some aspects of the information contained in such recordings. For the moment the NEV-format (version 2.0) is supported. A few other file formats can be used after preprocessing using NEV2lkit, a preprocessor and spike sorting program for neuronal data. Analytical results obtained within neurALC can be saved to ASCII text-files and/or stored in a MySQL database.
neurALC and NEV2lkit both are release under GPL. Their graphical user interface is based on Trolltech's cross-platfform Qt3.3-framework (additional version for *nix and Windows are distributed via http://neurALC.sf.net and http://nev2lkit.sf.net ). *At the moment* the binary installers of nev2lkit 1.1.4 and neurALC 1.0.0rc2 for MacOSX (10.3 or higher) are available via: http://naranja.umh.es/~atg (please visit the Qt3.3.5-section within "software"). An binary installer for MacOSX of the additional required Qt3.3.5 framework is available from the same page.
Enjoy,
Markus Bongard
