Science-friendly fresh installation of OS X 10.5.2
Hello everyone,
Over the past couple of days I have upgraded from Tiger to Leopard on my Santa Rosa MacBook Pro. Like many people reading this, I'm a scientist and programmer. I kept a detailed blog of my installation, discussing things such as workarounds to successfully install all my desired packages from Macports, among other things. I now have a perfectly working 10.5.2 with applications such as TeXLive 2007 (compiled from source via macports), gfortran 4.2.3, Aquamacs, VMD, grace, PyX, and more.
I realize my experience isn't new to some readers of this forum, but as not everyone has upgraded to Leopard (or had problems doing so), I hope that my story is interesting or useful. I also don't know of an equivalent step-by-step log on the web. Enjoy!

p.s. macresearch.org does get mentioned :)
