Required Security Policies

I am in the process of writing a proposal for a foundation that raises money for blood cell research. The security level on their server is very low. Does anyone know of any research philanthropies that require a much more secured system? This my suggestion but they seem not to want to spend their money on server security.
Thanks

More details
Could you provide more details on the situation? What do you mean by low security level? Is this machine running a version of OS X server?
Security Policies Cntd...
It's12 iMacs(Mac-on-a-stick) each machine varies from OS 10.3.8 to 10.4.5. All are wirelessly connected to an Airport Extreme router. All users can access their HD's from another's computer. Very ad-hoc. Very bad security.
You probably don't need to
You probably don't need to spend any/much money on security - just some simple hardening up of what you've got will probably be sufficient.
Oh, and make sure there's a good backup policy. Can be much more important than the intial security.
