Powerpoint to iPod Hack

While not completely scientific in nature, this hack is sure to be of use to the majority of readers as most of you have to deal with PowerPoint or Keynote on a regular basis. Steve Rubel from the Micro Persuasion blog post this great hack on turning your iPod into the "Ultimate PowerPoint Accessory". The hack is compatible with the latest iPod video or the iPod nano (although lack of video out on a nano probably makes it pointless to use the hack on this model). Steve's hack makes use of the iPresent It software from ZappTek software.

authorSTREAM has just added a free PowerPoint to iPod conversion service. You need to simply upload your PowerPoint file with rehearsed timings and apart from getting hosted on a unique URL on authorSTREAM, it gets converted to iPod friendly format, which can be downloaded to iTunes as a podcast, and synched to your iPod or iPhone. You can subscribe to presentation podcasts through iTunes RSS feeds.

authorSTREAM also provides embed code for presentations to post on blogs and sites. When embedded, presentations play in a Flash player. Another unique thing about authorSTREAM is that it plays narrations and animations in PowerPoint, so it is a good Web tool for multimedia presentations.
