Open Source Science Projects...

Hi all,

Let me first introduce myself. I am a still studying computer science student in the United Kingdom. I am what some would call a "geek" simply because I just like technology. I do enjoy studying and my favourite subjects are physics and computer science. Not much else for introductions :-P

Most of my programming time has been in Java but ever since I got a Mac about 6 months ago, I have been wanting to learn Objective-C quite a bit. I luckily stumbled upon this site, and thankfully so. Whoever wrote the Cocoa tutorials has done a fantastic job.

On to the topic title... Any ideas on what open source efforts are out in the wild for scientific coding projects? Not sure if it qualifies but one I hear of a lot SETI@home.

Anyone else from Europe around here?

Regards,
Maccy
