Microscope Adapters for iSight
Does anyone have a lead on a commercial product that provides an adapter to an iSight camera?
I am building a home brew adapter to use an iSight in place of an eyepiece on a stereo microscope.
If there was a commercial adapter though it would save some time.

post a howto
I've looked for such an adapter for hours on end and I couldn't find one. If you do end up building one I'd love you to post a howto somewhere. Maybe you could get it posted on this site.

Ended up buying it with an adapter for my Canon camera. Seems to be working very
well. I also ordered

the isight adapter ring.
when I get it I will see if I can get the iSight working.

Were you able to get the iSight to work with your microscope?

I'll keep the subject up... Did anybody succeed in using an iSight?
Have the adapter custom made
It might be relatively cheap and easy to have one custom-machined online. What do you think? I've heard good things about these guys.

A quick-and-dirty solution
Same here. I couldn't find a nice and cheap adapter and finally saw a comparison using a digital camera with an without adapter.
I never thought of that before, but if you place the objective of your digital camera (in macro-mode, flash disabled) directly onto the ocular you'll get nice pictures. I used a Canon Ixus and was really pleased with the results.
It's definitively not prefect for publications but OK if you need quick pictures for a grant application or a presentation.
