Looking for some help

Hello everyone I am new on this forum and was wondering if this is a good place to ask and discuss specific questions regarding the use of Gaussian 03. I have a few very pointed questions and and interested in both learning and teaching in anyway that i can. If this is the right place great! If not please give any suggestions that you have.

Gaussian

You need to be careful about any comments you make about Gaussian. might be worth reading this http://www.bannedbygaussian.org/

So Im sorry i used the G word.

I wont use the G word anymore but i still want to talk theoretical and computational models which may or may not incorporate the discussion of programs but really that doesn't matter I don't care about which program you use or even if it is faster then mine. All I care about is chemistry so am i in the right place or not?

Questions?

If you read some of the other posts on this forum, I think you'll see that there's a reasonable chance someone will be able to help you. I think the point of the last response is that you may want to consider using a different program in your research for YOUR OWN sake.

If you have questions, then post them. People are going to be much more willing to respond to specific questions. No one is going to claim they can answer all of your questions right NOW, but if you post a question that they can answer (and there's a good chance many will be able to), then those people will respond accordingly.

Just be clear in your questions.

Questions?

Thanks Ted, that was all I needed to know, G isn't the only program I use I just figured that it was the one most commonly used.

Re: Looking for some help

Actually, MacResearch.org is an open forum for people to discuss whatever they want as they see fit. We won't moderate your comments or allow any other group to insist we do. Whether or not that company wishes to seek retribution against the posters is their business. But as far as we (I) am concerned, any piece of software related to scientific computing on the Mac platform (or any other for that matter) is fair game for discussion.

If a company doesn't want people speaking about their application, then they shouldn't release it to the public.

Now to answer your questions, there are a number of chemists on this site who are interested in the types of problems you are probably intersted in talking about. I'd encourage you to ask away.

Regards,

Dave

MacResearch fine, also CCL.net

Certainly MacResearch.org is for asking all sorts of Mac and science-related questions. There are definitely Gaussian users on here who can help.

I'll also recommend the CCL.net website and e-mail list. At many times, it serves as unofficial Gaussian tech-support. CCL.net is also a general mailing list for computational chemistry.
