Not exactly an answer to your question, but I have people send me CSV exports from their Excel files. Drew has posted an approach to parsing CSV in Obj-C here on MacResearch, just in case your search for an Excel Library stays unfruitful.
Thanks for your suggestion.
But in that case i have to convert Excel to CSV. I want my iphone application to do that. Is there any way to do that? I mean is there any tool or component available to do that which i can incorporate into my application and it can give me CSV export from a particular excel file?
This will not help you on the iPhone, but for others out there who need to do this on the Mac, I had success with http://poi.apache.org/
I had to use JNI to control the Java from Objective-C. From there I converted it to a CSV like format, and used NSString to do the rest of the work. The JNI calls were cumbersome, hence why I used CSV.
I cannot seem to find anything on how to properly us JNI. Would you happen to know of any decent resources? I am just trying to integrate a java class I have that reads and excel file and just gathers the appropriate information. There is no file manipulation.
Any help you can provide would be fantastic. Thank you!
You can buy MS Office for Mac in which case you would feel right at home. I have Office for Mac and it works wonderfully. It's a MS product and works and feels the same on either PC or Mac.
Workaround: CSV
