Google Introduces Calaboration: Full Google Calendar Integration with iCal
Google has released a configuration utility called Calaboration.app that will allow you to fully integrate your Google calendars into iCal. CalDAV support for Google calendars has been in beta for quite some time, but it is now fully supported.
The configuration tool greatly simplifies the setup, but you can also setup the calendars manually if you know the relevant server information. You can see the detailed setup information if you go to iCal -> Preferences -> Accounts.
I just tested this with iCal in Leopard (10.5.5) and it worked flawlessly. Unlike subscribing to your Google calendar, you can now make modifications, add/accept/un-accept meeting invitations etc... Changes made to your Google calendar or via iCal are automatically replicated. Oddly enough I was asking someone about this exact feature yesterday. And the Google gods have now responded.
Calaboration is available as both Source code and a pre-compiled application bundle. For more information click see the Calaboration website.

Can you give a few more
Can you give a few more details about what this app enables, as I can't find much information on their website? As far as I am concerned iCal and gCal integrate pretty well already? Is the only benefit the meet invitations feature?

No Tiger support
Unfortunately, Calaboration works only on Leopard.

In the past at least, you could only subscribe to a Google calendar (so no editing of it within iCal), unless you used a third party app like Busy Sync. Now you get full editing capabilities (including deleting and creation of new items in a calendar). If this existed before, I could never find it.
Re: Leopard vs. Tiger. I think the issue is that it requires the version of iCal in Leopard. Maybe. I don't have a Tiger machine anymore, but look under Preferences and see if there is an Account tab. If so, you may be able to set it up manually.

password hassle
I installed Calabration and added several google calendars to my iCal. Unfortunately, iCAl is frequently failing to get permission to refresh the calendars. I constantly have to retype the passwords. Obviously I turned off the automatic refresh option, but it is still an unfortunate glitch. Anyone else have this trouble? Any advice?

Re: password hassle
I'm having the same problem too. I think this is server side. It seems to happen more if I have the automatic refresh set to a low value, like 5 min. Setting it 30 min, seems OK. I also saw someone else mention this problem in an Arstechnica thread. So it's not just us.
Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.
