I've looked through the XQuartz site, but unfortunately wasn't able to get a clear answer to whether or not the
problem with 8-bit color had been solved. I have a critical application that requires it.
With the latest XQuartz rc if I go to preferences, I see "millions" and "thousands" of colors as options, but not the
good old "hundreds" one.
